Finding the perfect pair of jeans can be a nightmare of great proportions. Here at the Melange, we’ve witnessed countless people try on jeans. A few women look good in every pair--the REST of us however, need a particular rise, a particular cut, and a particular style. We’ve passed on some important observations on what looks good on whom. Here are some preliminary rules to keep in mind:

1) It’s about shape, not size! We’ve all had the experience of feeling less than confident about our size after trying on a pair of jeans that just didn’t look right. We’ve all experienced trying on a pair in what we thought was “our size” only to find we couldn’t get them past our thighs—or worse, trying on a pair that looks absolutely magnificent on a girlfriend only to find that it looks awful on us. But don’t despair! We’ve found that each style of jean is made for a particular body type. We’ve made notes in our descriptions below to let you know the patterns we see in how the “perfect” pair usually matches up with a specific body type.

2) Pocket placement is key! Let’s face it, the perfect pair of jeans has everything to do with how our butt looks in them. Placement of the backside pockets is a huge factor in how we feel about the fit of the jeans (how high or low the pockets are changes the look of your booty). In our descriptions we’ve tried to give you an idea of how the back pockets will fit women with different bums.

3) Trial and error is okay! Sometimes you have to kiss a few of those “jean frogs” to find the prince. It is ALL worth it once you find that perfect pair. We are here to help make the process less painful so feel free to ask a million questions and remember that returns are super easy so if we don't find success at first, don't worry.
